PATNA, Oct. 15 -- Amid the ongoing stalemate over seat sharing among the Opposition INDIA bloc allies in Bihar, confusion gripped the RJD camp on Monday evening after some candidates, who had been allotted the party symbol, were asked to return it by the leader of the Opposition in the Bihar Assembly, Tejashwi Prasad Yadav, following his return from New Delhi, people familiar with the matter said. Insiders in the RJD said the development has caused much confusion among the proposed candidates, many of whom have already been given party symbol by RJD chief in last few days including on Monday evening. Among those reportedly asked to return the symbols included Bogo Singh, who is a proposed RJD candidate from Matihani assembly seat in Begusarai. There is no official confirmation to this development as RJD leaders were not keen on giving a statement on this matter. Incidentally, some of the top RJD candidates like Maner MLA, Bhai Virendra and other proposed candidates like Dipu from Sandesh assembly seat in Bhojpur, Sajiv Kumar from Parbatta, Rajesh Kumar form Hatua, Rekha Paswan from Masaurhi have been given tickets by the RJD chief. Bhai Virendra, an old loyalist of RJD chief as well as Dipu posted pictures of getting the party ticket from RJD chief on Monday in the social media. "If some aspirant have been asked to return symbols, there may have been some reasons behind it. The seat sharing talks are still underway and a clear picture would emerge by today," said a senior RJD leader, adding that the aspirants should not have put pictures of getting tickets in the social media. This is a wrong practice, he said. It is learnt that Tejashwi, who is head of the coordination committee of INDIA bloc in Bihar, is still in talks with Congress and left leaders over seat adjustments but the talks have remained inconclusive so far as the Congress is not ready to give up its demand for 60 plus seats where as the RJD has offered the grand old party 50 t0 55 seats at the maximum. People familiar with the developments said that Tejashwi is still waiting for Congress to accept the seat sharing formula even as the RJD chief apparently not happy with the delay in seat allotments among allies has deliberately started giving tickets to party's selected candidates to exert pressure on Congress to seal a seat sharing arrangement. "There is no time left now for deliberations as the nomination process for the first phase would end on October 17. If candidates do not get tickets, how will they prepare nomination papers for filing before the deadline? This is why the RJD chief has started giving tickets to many candidates whose seats are going to polls in the first phase. But yes, seat sharing talks are still on," said another RJD leader, who claimed the reports of recalling symbols from some aspirants was a 'trivial matter'. There are also reports the other allies in the INDIA bloc in Bihar like Vikasheel Insaan Party (VIP) led by Mukesh Sahani, CPI-ML (Liberation) and other left parties too are exerting pressure on the RJD for higher seat allotments with glitches on many seats like Agion, Ghosi Hayaghat, Benipatti . The ML is keen on getting atleast seven more seats other than 19 seats offered to the party by RJD. "We want seats like Barachatti, Rajgir, Biharisharief, Gaighat and few other seats from the RJD. Some seats were contested by Congress and RJD in 2020. These should be exchange of seats for better strike rate of the INDIA bloc," said a senior CPI-ML(liberation) leader, in know of the matter....
