Son-in-law of Ex-JD(U) min arrested for graft
PATNA, March 8 -- Senior divisional electrical engineer of Dhanbad Rail Division, Sanjeev Kumar has been caught red-handed by the CBI sleuths while he allegedly accepting an illegal graft of Rs. 50,000 from a contractor to clear his bill, official said on Saturday. Sanjeev a native of Samastipur in Bihar, a son-in-law of an ex-JD(U) minister, who resigned her post after her husband's name floated in Muzaffarpur sex scandal case.
Official familiar with the matter said the CBI sleuths led by DSP Bikas Pathak laid a trap on Friday evening while Sanjeev was present in his official chamber. CBI sleuths recovered the cash from his drawer while additional cash of Rs.4.5 lakh recovered from his Dhanbad based official residence. Separate teams of CBI also searched his ancestral house and a flat in Danapur. Computer hard disks, printer, tender related documents besides incriminating documents seized by the CBI. The CBI has registered an FIR against the railway officer on the basis of the statement of contractor AK Jha. He has got a tender related to lift repair and maintenance at Dhanbad Junction. The department has imposed a penalty on the construction firm for delay in completion of the work....
