Somali citizen held for overstaying in India
BETTIAH, May 16 -- The immigration sleuths arrested a Somali citizen who has been allegedly overtaying in the country illegally for about four months while trying to cross Indian territory into Nepal near Bharat Nepal Maitripul, officials said on Friday.
The foreign national, arrested late Thursday, was handed over to police by immigration officials on Friday. East Champaran police said, "Mahamed Ahmed Farah, 29, was staying in Toli Chowki in Telangana's Hyderabad using a UNHCR card after his visa expired in January."
Haraiya SHO KK Paswan said Farah was charged under Immigration and Foreigner Act and BNS, and sent to jail....
