SAHARSA, Aug. 7 -- Kosi range deputy inspector general of police (DIG) Dr Kumar Ashish suspended a sub-inspector (SI) posted as additional SHO at Baijnathpur in Bihar's Saharsa district over her alleged connivance with a notorious drug smuggler, officers said on Thursday. According to police, SI Khushboo Kumari has been found guilty of maintaining an active, illegal collusion with a notorious drug trafficker following a technical investigation, including analysis of her call detail records, led by assistant superintendent of police. Police said, "Upon being served a show-cause notice regarding probe findings, the SI officially admitted to being in contact with the smuggler." DIG added, "Following her admission, she was suspended and asked to report to Supaul police lines. A departmental inquiry will be initiated." "A clear warning has been issued to all police officers: whoever is found guilty of conniving with anti-social elements or drug syndicates will be brought to book. We have started identifying the 'black sheep' within the police department," DIG Ashish said....
