Samrat Choudhary to have direct interaction with DMs, SPs today
PATNA, April 30 -- Bihar chief minister Samrat Chaudhary will inaugurate and address a one-day workshop at the Adhiveshan Bhawan in Patna on Thursday, his first since assuming charge of the office, to tone up the state administration with focus on field officers
What is significant about the workshop is that it has called for physical participation of all the district magistrates and senior superintendents of police and superintendents of police (SSPs/ SPs), while senior police officers like range IGs and range DIGs would participate through video-conferencing.
A notification to this effect has been issued separately by the police headquarters as well as the General Administration Department (GAD)
Choudhary will also address the police officials to lay down the expectations of the new government on crime control and administrative efficiency at the field level, which impacts the lives directly, to build people's confidence.
"This is a kind of bottom-up approach to ensure participative governance, leverages the direct, practical knowledge of field officers to solve operational inefficiencies rather than relying solely on top-down directives," said a senior police officer.
On January 12, a two-day state-level police conference was held at the Police Headquarters in Patna, but then Choudhary was the Deputy CM with portfolio of home department and the participation of SPs, DSPs, Inspectors and Station House Officers (SHOs) from all districts was through video-conferencing, while senior officials were physically present....
