RANCHI, June 6 -- A rift among the allies split wide open on Friday as the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM), lead partner in the ruling INDIA bloc government led by chief minister Hemant Soren, remained non-committal about extending support to the Congress nominee for one of the two Rajya Sabha seats going to polls from Jharkhand on June 18. On Thursday night, Congress named All Iindia Congress Committee secretary Pranav Jha its candidate for the polls. Jha, who is connected to Bokaro, has been active in the party in New Delhi and currently serves as communication advisor to Congress president Mallikarjuna Kharge. The JMM leaders, however, took umbrage at the Congress's 'unilateral decision' to announce its candidate and urged party chief Hemant Soren to field candidates for both seats....
