Rly health inspector held for Rs.10,000 bribe
Dhanbad, Sept. 16 -- The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Tuesday arrested the Chief Health Inspector, Bhojudih, Adra Division of South Eastern Railway, in a bribery case after he was allegedly caught accepting Rs.10,000 from a complainant, the agency officials said.
According to the CBI Press Release, the case was registered on September 15 following a complaint against the railway health official. The complainant alleged that the accused had demanded an undue advantage of Rs.25,000 for sanctioning his medical leave.
After receiving the complaint, the CBI laid a trap and caught the official red-handed while he was allegedly accepting Rs.10,000 from the complainant.
The agency also conducted searches at the accused official's office and residential premises as part of the investigation.
The arrested official, posted as Chief Health Inspector at Bhojudih under Adra Division, South Eastern Railway, in Bokaro district, will be produced before the competent court in Dhanbad, the CBI said.
