PATNA, March 18 -- The Opposition party Rashtriya Janata Dal will contest three seats in Kerala in the upcoming assembly polls in the coastal state in alliance with the ruling CPM-led Left democratic front (LDF).
Leader of the Opposition Tejashwi Prasad Yadav had made an announcement regarding this during his interaction with media recently. " We have made an alliance with the LDF and would contest three seats. We have already one sitting MLA in the state assembly," Yadav said.
Anu Chacko, national general secretary of RJD, said that her party had been allotted three seats -- Kuthuparambu assembly seat (it is a sitting seat of RJD), Vadakara and Kalpetta assembly seats -- in alliance with the LDF.
"We already have one sitting MLA from Kuthuparambu and have got two additional seats, Vadakara and Kalpetta in seat adjustment with the LDF," Chacko said, who is also a former state president of the RJD state unit, while talking to HT on phone.
The ruling LDF led by chief minister Pinarayi Vijayan is seeking a third term in power pitted against Opposition's United Democratic Front (UDF) and also the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) that is making inroads in the state....
