Residential certificate sought in name of CM Nitish
PATNA, Aug. 5 -- Bihar's Muzaffarpur police have registered an FIR against an unknown applicant for seeking a fake residence certificate of Nitish Kumar by pasting the picture of the CM, officials said on Monday.
Saraiya block revenue officer (RO) Abhishek Singh confirmed that an FIR has been registered in an attempt to get the fake residence certificate for the chief minister. The RO called it a conspiracy to tarnish the image of the chief minister.
While talking with HT, the RO said that the attempted fraud came to light during the verification of the application. "During the processing of the online application for the residential certificate, he spotted the application by one Nitish Kumar with the Chief Minister's photo. The applicant has mentioned his father's name as Lakhan Paswan and mother's name as Lakiya Devi. The application, submitted online included the CM's name and photograph, prompting officials to allege a deliberate attempt to malign his image," he said.
"When it was investigated, it seemed to be a conspiracy," the RO added.
Bihar CM's father's name was Kaviraj Ram Lakhan Singh and mother's name Parmeshwari Devi. CM Kumar originally hails from Kalyan Bigha in Nalanda.
Following the revelation, Muzaffarpur police have initiated an investigation into the matter.
The SHO of the Saraiya police station Subhash Mukhiya confirmed that a complaint was received from the RO regarding the matter and investigation is on following a FIR. The attempt to get CM Nitish Kumar's residence certificate comes days, authorities have encountered multiple fraudulent applications, including one for a Dog Babu in Patna, a tractor bearing the photo of Bhojpuri actress Monalisa in Motihari, a fictitious person named "Dogesh Babu" in Nawada and at Jehanabad, an income tax certificate listing the applicant's name as "Samsung"....
