SASARAM/BHABUA, Oct. 22 -- Congress state president Rajesh Ram took a sigh of relief after the RJD would-be candidate and former minister Suresh Paswan did not file his nomination papers from Kutumba constituency in Aurangabad on last day on Monday. But the NDA and GA both are facing trouble from their own loyalists in Rohtas and Kaimur. Jay Kumar Singh, three-time JD(U) MLA from Dinara and former minister, filed his nomination papers from Dinara assembly constituency in Rohtas district as an Independent on Monday. The seat went to Rashtriya Lok Morcha (RLM) and its candidate Alok Kumar Singh is already in the fray. Alok is younger brother of BJP MLC and minister Santosh Kumar Singh. Jay Kumar Singh, after filing nominations, said he had never left the JD(U) and Nitish Kumar in his three-decade-long political career. He had filed the nomination for principles and prestige, he said. In another crucial development, Bhojpuri power star and BJP star campaigner Pawan Singh's wife Jyoti Singh filed her nomination as an Independent from Karakat. Jyoti has been visiting the constituency since the 2024 parliamentary elections and is a popular face. She had campaigned for Pawan Singh who fought as an Independent from Karakat and was the main cause behind defeat of RLM supremo Upendra Kushwaha, who was sent in third place in parliamentary elections.
