RANCHI, May 18 -- In one of its largest anti-crime operations to date, Ranchi Police arrested more than 100 criminals and executed over 220 pending warrants during a massive two-day crackdown named 'Operation Prahar.' The intensive drive was launched following instructions from Ranchi SSP, Rakesh Ranjan. It was coordinated under three SP-rank officers. "Moving swiftly, police teams conducted synchronised, late-night raids across multiple locations, catching fugitives and suspects off guard. The continuous pressure led to the apprehension of several notorious offenders who had been evading law enforcement for a prolonged period," a statement from district police headquarters read. The high-intensity crackdown comes in response to a critical surge in specific crime indices across the capital city. "The district recorded 1,933 cases of theft and 407 cases of house burglary. This volume of active property crimes left a significant backlog of unexecuted warrants. The area experienced 132 general murder cases and 207 kidnapping cases, necessitating rapid intervention to remove repeat offenders from the streets," a police official said....
