PATNA, Aug. 15 -- Compared to last year, Bihar has witnessed a decline of 10 per cent in murder cases, 31 per cent in robberies and 19 per cent in rioting," the Bihar Home Department said on Friday. The Home Department also highlighted the elimination of Maoist-affected districts from the state and increased action against economic and cyber offences as it outlined the government's efforts to strengthen law and order and ensure a safer environment for people. An official said that 50,000 police personnel had been appointed in the last one-and-a-half years, while around 26,000 more policemen will be appointed in the next one or two months.
