Property worth lakhs gutted in fire near Patna Junction: Cops
PATNA, Oct. 3 -- Properties worth lakhs of rupees were destroyed after a massive fire broke out at an electrical warehouse and two shops at Chandni Market under Kotwali police station on Friday afternoon. No casualty was reported, police said.
Abhay Mishra, a shop employee at Chandni Market, said the fire broke out around 3 pm at an electrical warehouse belonging to a shop named Super Trades. The warehouse had been built a month ago and stocked with preparations for Diwali, he said.
Two other shops were also damaged in the fire, triggering panic in the market. A tin-roof structure had been built on the third floor of the warehouse, where electronic gadgets were stored. The fire was suspected to have been caused by a short circuit, Mishra said. The flames spread rapidly, causing panic among shopkeepers and visitors....
