BETTIAH, March 8 -- Prachi Honey, 25 , who secured the 28th rank in the Civil Services Examination (CSE) 2026 conducted by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) after failing to clear even the prelims for three years in a row said on Saturday that failure often becomes the strongest learning experience that helps shape up life. Talking to Hindustan Times over the phone from Muzaffarpur, Honey said that every failed attempt had a defining feature during preparation and helped her formulate both strategy and mindset. "Failure is never the end of the road. I analysed my mistakes every time I failed, worked on myself and improved my preparations. It was these setbacks and penchant for learning that helped me secure 92th rank in the 69th edition of BPSC (Bihar Public Service Commission)," said Prachi, who didn't take setbacks in prelims examination as end of efforts. And when this year's UPSC results came and she was among top rankers, she was surprised. "After the interview, I was really fancying my chances but the 28th rank is not certainly what I expected," she said. Honey did her early education in Muzaffarpur and then pursued graduation in Geography from the Kalindi College in Delhi University. She attributed her success to her parents and teachers at her coaching centre in Delhi. "I didn't go for the Master's degree and stacked all my energy for preparation at their instance. Their advice worked," she said, adding that she had filled her home state Bihar as her first choice of service....
