PATNA, Oct. 24 -- Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday interacted with the Bharatiya Janata Party's youth workers from poll-bound Bihar and said the coming electoral contest in the state is an election to write a new chapter of the state's prosperity. With Chhath festival set to start in two days time, PM Modi also referred to the upcoming festival of Chhath and said that people in Bihar are also celebrating the festival of democracy.
The PM's interaction with youths holds significance as around 14 lakh youths are expected to vote for the first time in this election, as per data from the Election Commission. The age group of 18-29, comprising approximately 1.63 crore people, accounts for an estimated 22-25 percent of Bihar's electorate, making them a significant segment in the upcoming polls.
"Amidst the festive fervour, preparations for the worship of Chhathi Maiya are also in full swing. Alongside all this, Bihar is also celebrating the grand festival of democracy. This is an election to write a new chapter of Bihar's prosperity. The youth of Bihar have a very significant role in this," he said.
This was PM's second interaction with party workers within a fortnight through 'Mera Booth Sabse Majboot' programme programme.
The PM said when there's stability, development picks up pace, and this is the strength of Bihar's NDA government. "That's why every young person in Bihar is enthusiastically saying, "Raftaar pakad chuka Bihar, phir se NDA sarkar"....
