Police raid RJD MLA's premises in Siwan district
PATNA, May 5 -- Bihar police on Monday conducted raids at two locations linked to RJD's MLA from Raghunathpur constituency in Siwan district, Osama Shahab, for allegedly making an extortion demand and forcibly capturing land of a doctor couple.
Osama is underground after his plea for interim bail was rejected by the court of Principal District and Sessions Judge Motish Kumar Singh on April 28. According to officers, the latest action aimed to arrest and produce Osama before the court. Over 100 police personnel led by Saran range DIG Nilesh Kumar conducted the raids at Osama's parental house in Pratappur under Hussainganj police station jurisdiction, and at offices and a house on Quila Road under Siwan Town police station.
An FIR was filed against Osama and his associates at Mahadeva police station under BNS for forcibly capturing the doctor's land, assaulting and threatening the doctor's staff.
The raids lasted for about two hours, according to officers. During this time, Osama and his mother Hina Shahab were not present at their houses.
