PATNA, Feb. 14 -- Patna police on Friday raided the house of former IPS officer of 1994 batch, Amitabh Kumar Das and recovered electronic devices and incriminating documents from his flat, police said. Confirming this, Patna SSP Kartikey K Sharma told HT that police searched his premises after procuring a search warrant against him from the court. "Police recovered electronic devices, writing pad and other incriminating materials from his premises," added Sharma. A police team of Chitragupta Nagar police station raided his apartment located in Pataliputra Colony. During the search, Amitabh Das's health deteriorated and he was later admitted to a private hospital. The Chitragupta Nagar police has recently registered an FIR against Amitabh Das on the charges of misleading and provocative posts on social media. The case is related to the rape-death case of NEET girl student at Shambhu Girls Hostel in Chitragupta Nagar police station area. Police said Amitabh Das and others have posted inflammatory posts in the case related to Chitragupta Nagar police station case number 44/26 on X, YouTube, Instagram and Facebook. Officials say that these posts are trying to influence the investigation of the case. Police alleged that Das made comments concerning a minor student from Jehanabad and shared material that violated her privacy. The police have also said that the posts related to the case posted by Das in social media were "misleading and inflammatory" in nature. The raids follows after Das had made serious allegations in media interactions and on social platforms regarding the circumstances of the student's death. Police said they had been monitoring Das's posts across X, YouTube, Instagram and Facebook. According to officials, the former officer made "baseless and provocative" statements related to the Chitragupta Nagar police case and attempted to cast doubt on the integrity of the investigation....
