BHABUA, Aug. 19 -- Two policemen were injured and their vehicle was damaged when supporters of two arrested thieves attacked the police team at Kisunpura village under Ramgarh police station of Kaimur district on Monday night. The assailants succeeded in releasing the two arrested accused, police said on Tuesday. Acting on a tip-off about presence of wanted thieves Khalashi Musahar and Kariman Musahar in Kisunpura village, a Dial 112 team rushed to the place and arrested both of them. The accused were being taken to Ramgarh police station for further legal action. Meanwhile, their supporters protesting the police action, attacked the police team with traditional weapons near Musahar Tola and freed the accused from police custody. The miscreants also damaged the police vehicle. Two constables sustained simple injuries in the attack and received first aid at the local government hospital. Upon receiving information about the attack, SP Shikhar Choudhary rushed the Quick Response Team (QRT) and police force from nearby police stations.
