GAYA, July 19 -- Gaya police claim to have solved the murder mystery of the woman whose body was found in Imamganj on Thursday. Police officers said two of her paramours killed her to save their newly-started marital lives. The deceased has been identified as Sunita Devi (36), wife of Ranjay Yadav of Barhikhap Musan Tand village. Her husband worked as a labourer in Chennai and the woman lived in the village with her four children. Her body, with a brutally crushed head, was found in a well outside the village on Thursday. Senior superintendent of police (SSP) Sushil Kumar formed a Special Investigation Team (SIT) under Imamganj SDPO Dheeraj Kumar to solve the case. Police got a lead on Friday after her daughters identified the body and informed them that co-villager Uday Yadav constantly called their mother. Uday was arrested and confessed during interrogation that he and Bandhu alias Rakesh Kumar were in a relationship with the deceased and they killed her together. According to police, both men had married this year and feared their wives would learn about their affair because the deceased used to threaten to expose it if they refused to meet her. Police said they hatched a plan to eliminate her and a co-villager Santosh Kumar, who had an enmity with the woman's husband over a land dispute, joined the conspiracy. They called the woman to the well, killed her with bricks and stones and threw her body into the well. An officer said a murder case has been registered with the Imamganj police station against the accused based on the victim's father's statement, and further investigation is ongoing....
