Nitish slams dynastic politics, nepotism
BHABUA/SASARAM, Sept. 25 -- Chief minister Nitish Kumar launched a scathing attack on dynastic politics and nepotism while addressing the NDA workers during Karyakarta Samvad at Sasaram on Wednesday.
In an oblique reference to RJD and its president Lalu Prasad, Kumar said some people, when they got out, gave power in the hands of wife. "They want to keep all positions within the family, whereas after coming to power, we empowered all the women of Bihar," he said.
Kumar said his government provided 50% reservation for women in Panchayati Raj institutions and municipal bodies, and 35% in police and other government jobs. "Today, Bihar has the highest number of women police officers among all states," he said. Praising the women of Jeevika Self-Help Group, the CM said, "14 million Jeevika Didis in rural areas and 3.85 million in urban areas were creating history of self-reliance."
He announced that he would provide government jobs and self-employment opportunities to 10 million youth over next five years. During his tenure, 5 million youth had already been provided with government jobs and self-employment opportunities, Kumar said.
He expressed his gratitude to the PM Modi for his contribution to Bihar's development.
It was a 'dream come true visit' of the CM to the decades- old neglected people of southern Bihar hilly districts Kaimur and Rohtas. The CM inaugurated and laid the foundation of 178 schemes worth Rs. 980.15 crore in Kaimur and 124 schemes worth Rs.921 crore in Rohtas district. Most of the schemes are related to electricity, road, irrigation, health, education and tourism....
