PATNA, April 12 -- Political activity heightened at the chief minister's residence in Patna since Saturday morning, with a large number of leaders from both JD(U) and the BJP visiting CM Nitish Kumar's 1, Anne Marg residence. Among the visitors were two deputy CMs, Samrat Chowdhary and Vijay Kumar Sinha, and several state ministers. Sinha, later in the evening visited Lok Bhawan to meet Governor giving rise to speculations on the date of oath. On Saturday, an important meeting of JD(U) leaders took place at the Chief Minister's residence in Patna. During this meeting, the party's national working president, Sanjay Jha, and senior leader Vijay Chaudhary met with the Chief Minister. Lasting approximately two hours, the meeting involved discussions on issues such as the composition of the new cabinet and the inclusion of young faces within it. BJP sources said that the party is also set to hold a crucial meeting in Patna in a day or two, which will be attended by Vinod Tawde, the BJP's in-charge for Bihar. Discussions regarding the choice of the new CM and the framework for government formation are expected to take place during this meeting. It is widely believed that the final decision will ultimately be taken at the level of the NDA and the central leadership. Unconfirmed reports suggested that preparations for the formation and swearing in has begun. Though no official date has been announced, there is a possibility that swearing-in might take place on April 15 at Lok Bhawan. A NDA leader said that the alliance legislator party meeting is likely to be held on April 14. "There are chances that the NDA legislator party meeting would be held on April 14 after which Kumar would resign," said the NDA leader. "Discussions are underway regarding the presence of PM Modi and the Union Home Minister at the swearing-in," he added. A BJP leader said that the Prime Minister Narendra Modi and union home minister Amit Shah are unlikely to attend the swearing-in if it takes place on April 15. "However, If the PM's visit is finalised, the swearing-in ceremony could be postponed by couple of days," said the BJP leader adding that the government and administration are making parallel preparations for both dates, so that changes can be made quickly once a final decision is reached. Government officials said that as of now, no cabinet meeting has been planned on April 14. Bihar chief minister Nitish Kumar has begun shifting his belongings from the official residence at 1 Anne Marg to his new residence at 7 Circular Road in Patna.
