NIA arrests 2 from Bihar in arms trafficking case
PATNA, Dec. 6 -- The National Investigation Agency (NIA) arrested four key accused after massive coordinated raids at 22 locations across three states including Bihar in connection with an organised arms and ammunition trafficking case. They recovered Rs.1 crore cash, arms-ammunition of different bores, several digital and electronic devices containing incriminating data, incriminating documents, during the searches, an NIA official said on Friday.
The NIA arrested accused--Shashi Prakash from Patna, Ravi Ranjan Singh from Sheikhpura in Bihar. Vijay Kalra and Kush Kalra (Haryana) for their active involvement in the wider syndicate involved in trafficking, selling and purchasing illegal ammunition.
Twenty-two teams on Thursday conducted simultaneous searches at seven locations in Nalanda, Sheikhpura and Patna districts of Bihar, 13 locations in Auraiya district of UP and two locations in Kurukshetra district of Haryana, said the statement issued by NIA on Friday....
