BETTIAH, June 16 -- Two people, including a foreign national with fake documents, were arrested while attempting to cross into Nepal from Indian territory near Maitri Bridge on the India-Nepal border in Raxaul during a joint operation by Haraiya police and Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB), officers said on Monday. Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) Manish Anand said, " We are trying to figure out how and in what circumstances the woman, a Myanmar national, obtained a fake Aadhaar card. She knows how to communicate in Hindi, but has a distinct accent. We are investigating since when she was in India." SSB's Border Intelligence Team (BIT) intercepted the duo during a routine check and examined their identity documents. The man identified himself as Saddam Mansoori, a resident of Sitamarhi while the woman introduced herself as Anjum Khatoon, a fake name listed on the Aadhaar card. The security personnel grew suspicious after finding the woman's accent interspersed with foreign tone. "Upon examination of her cellphone, it was revealed that she is a Myanmar national and she was identified as Buma Devi, 23," said Kisan Paswan, Haraiya Station House Officer (SHO). During the investigation, police found that Mansoori allegedly operated a Facebook account under the name "Sonu Babu" through which he came into contact with Devi who was working in Thailand. She came to India a few weeks back and they got married. Both have been charged, police said....
