PATNA, July 31 -- A memorandum of understanding (MOU) was signed for setting up of a large intergrated steel project to be set up at Gaya ji between the industry department and Mahashakti group, in the presence of chief minister Samrat Choudhary on Thursday. A statement from the CM's office said the project is estimated to be Rs.6,000 crore and the production capacity of finished steel will be 1.0 to 1.5 million tonne (MTPA) annually. The CM said the state government is working relentlessly for creating a conducive environment to attract investment in the state and investors are being offered transparent policy, better infrastructure set up and administrative assistance. "The setting up of the steel project would create big employment opportunities and also help ancillary and small scale industry. It will also boost the state economy," the CM said. Choudhary also exuded confidence that the project would be taking shape in the set deadline with the coordinated approach of BIADA (Bihar industrial Area Development Authority) , Industry department and investors.
