BETTIAH, Sept. 25 -- Motihari-based Mahatma Gandhi Central University's (MGCU) two senior professors have been named among the world's top scientists, while two others have been selected to present their pioneering research at the prestigious Emerging Science, Technology, and Innovation Conclave (ESTIC) 2025, to be inaugurated by the Prime Minister Narendra Modi in November this year. In an official statement issued by the university, dated September 24, 2025, on the global front, Prof. Devdutt Chaturvedi, Dean of the School of Physical Sciences, and Prof. Sujit Kumar Choudhary, Dean of the School of Social Sciences and faculty member of the Department of Sociology, have been recognized in the two per cent World Scientists Ranking 2026 released by the AD Scientific Index in collaboration with Stanford University, USA. Prof. Choudhary has also earned a place among the Top 100 Scientists in Social Sciences/Sociology (India 2026), underlining MGCU's growing presence in cutting-edge research worldwide. "At the national level, Dr. Shashikant Ray (Department of Biotechnology) and Dr. Buddhi Prakash Jain (Department of Zoology) have been selected to participate in ESTIC 2025, scheduled at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi, from 3rd to 6th November. Dr. Jain, chosen under the Young Scientist Category, will be among only 100 participants nationwide presenting their research through posters," reads the statement. ESTIC 2025, envisioned under the theme Viksit Bharat 2047, is seen as a platform for showcasing India's emerging scientific prowess.
