RANCHI, May 29 -- In a major breakthrough against left-wing extremism, Ranchi Police arrested Amrit Horo, alias 'Mecho', the top commander and current supremo of the banned People's Liberation Front of India (PLFI). Horo, with bounty of Rs.10 lakh on his head, was caught from the Lapung area during a targeted operation. A police official close to the matter said a special police team, led by Ranchi SSP Rakesh Ranjan, had been tracking Horo for months. "Acting on precise intelligence inputs, local surveillance, and technical tracking, the team closed in on the operative in his native Lapung region. This arrest is viewed as a crushing blow to the splinter group," the police official said....
