PATNA, April 18 -- Bihar police on Friday arrested a 32-year-old truck driver from Ahmedabad in Gujarat for allegedly threatening to kill Samrat Choudhary and using abusive language against him on a phone call, a day before he took oath as chief minister, officers said. Shekhar Yadav, a native of Banka district, is being brought to Bihar on a transit remand and will be produced in the Munger court after questioning. An FIR was registered against him after the purported audio surfaced on social media on April 15. Munger SP Syed Imran Masood said, "Two days ago, we received an audio from our sources in which one person was using abusive words and making life-threatening statements about the new chief minister. We verified the audio and identified the accused." A police team was sent to Yadav's house. Police found his elderly parents, an ill wife, and three children at his home. A preliminary inquiry revealed Yadav had been living away from his family for the last year and a half and barely contacted them. Another police team was dispatched to Ahmedabad to apprehend him. During preliminary questioning, Yadav alleged that he received repeated phone calls from an unknown number on April 14, following which he lost his temper and said "unwanted things" about Choudhary. Police said the threats were not issued directly to the chief minister, his office or any senior government official. Ahmedabad Rural Dy SP Aastha Rana said that Yadav worked as a truck driver at Thar dryport in Sanand. He wanted to raise some personal issues with the CM, however, he only found the PA's number. He then called the number and allegedly threatened to kill the CM over bringing no resolution to his issues. After Yadav made the infuriated calls, a complaint was registered against him at Sangrampur police station in Munger under BNS sections for criminal intimidation. Police said they are also investigating Yadav's mental condition and personal life to ascertain if tensions or family disputes affected him. Munger SP said that the accused also has a criminal history. A case of assault over a family dispute is registered against him in Banka. "If necessary, he will be taken on remand and interrogated further, so that it can be determined whether there is any other person or conspiracy behind this incident," he added....
