Man beaten to death over loan of Rs.220 in Bihar
PURNIA, Sept. 8 -- A 55- year-old man was allegedly beaten to death over a Rs.220 loan he had not paid to the shopkeeper in Bihar's Purnia on Saturday evening. The police have arrested one person and the hunt for other accused is on.
Police said Ashok Rai of Mahikhand Navtolia under Raghuvanshnagar police station in Dhamdaha area, had gone to the shop to buy tobacco when the shopkeeper insisted on paying Rs.220 he owed to him. Soon altercation began between the two which turned ugly when four persons started beating him up with rods and sticks.
"Later they took my father to a field and left to die,"Sriram Kumar Rai, son of the deceased said, adding, "We rushed to the field after being informed and found him lying dead." He alleged the shopkeeper Theli Sah and his family brutally killed his father for just Rs.220.
Police rushed to the site and sent the body to government medical college and hospital (GMCH) Purnia for postmortem....
