Lightning strikes claim 2 lives in Madhepura
MADHEPURA, May 22 -- Lightning strikes have claimed two lives in Bihar's Madhepura Thursday afternoon. Four persons were injured and they are undergoing treatment at the primary health centre (PHC). The victims were harvesting maize crop in the open field when the two were fatally struck during unexpected thundershowers.
The incident took place at Lakshmipur Lalchand Panchayat falling under the jurisdiction of Bihariganj police station, police said. The victims have been identified as Pintu Ram, 16, and Ranjeet Ram, 22, Bihariganj police station SHO Deepak Kumar confirmed.
The bodies were sent to Madhepura district hospital for postmortem, he said. "The injured persons-- Kishor Ram, Suman Kumar, Arbind Kumar and Sajan Ram are undergoing treatment at PHC and they are out of danger," SHO said....
