PATNA, June 25 -- The special task force and special police team on Wednesday claimed to have arrested five members of a solver gang involved in malpractice and using unfair means in competitive examinations.
A police officer said on June 22, a joint operation by the special team of Bihar STF and Patna police, arrested members of the solver gang identified as Praveen Shankar alias Golu from Shahpur area in Danapur, Amit Choudhary, Raj Kumar, Manoj Kumar and Karan Kumar and recovered various documents.
The officer said during the raid the police recovered nine mobile phones, original mark sheets and certificates of matriculation, intermediate of various candidates, around 20 blank cheque books of various banks and account holders, blank stamp paper and other documents.
An FIR was registered at Rupaspur (Patna) police station and necessary action was being taken, said the police officer.
It is worth mentioning that on June 22, STF received intelligence that some members of the solver gang were forming an organised gang and conspiring to commit malpractice, cheating and unfair means in various competitive exams by taking huge amounts of money from the candidates and were working to get them selected illegally.
According to information received, a special team of STF and Patna police took immediate action jointly, as a result of which five accused associated with the said gang were arrested. The criminal history of the arrested accused is being ascertained....
