Jharkhand CM bats for revival of Ranchi's hec, offers govt help
RANCHI, Sept. 20 -- Jharkhand chief minister Hemant Soren on Friday batted for the revival of the ailing Heavy Engineering Corporation (HEC) in Ranchi, extending all required help from the state government for the establishment of industrial units in the defence sector in the state.
Addressing the inaugural session of the three-day East Tech Symposium-2025, organised by the Union ministry of defence, Soren underlined that Jharkhand has already contributed significantly to the country and has strong potential for expanding defence-related industries in the state. "We all know that an industrial institution like HEC was established in Ranchis. With its support, many other industrial institutions within the country have progressed. The HEC has also played a key role in the production of satellites and nuclear components. But the current situation of HEC is not very good. It is very disturbing to know why such a large industrial institution is not living up to expectations," the CM added.
HEC is a public sector unit under the Union heavy industries ministry....
