BETTIAH, Jan. 28 -- A one-half-year old daughter of a labourer was allegedly sexually assaulted by a migrant worker in Bihar's Gopalganj district on Monday evening, triggering outrage and sharp political reactions from RJD national working president Tejashwi Yadav. Writing on X, Yadav alleged a complete breakdown of law and order in the state and described the crime as an "emergency-like situation." "A one-half-year old girl has been raped in Gopalganj again. The girls are unsafe under NDA rule in Bihar. This is an emergency-like-situation for the whole of Bihar. Everyday's government-sponsored crime is unacceptable..." reads Yadav's post. According to police, the incident took place at a locality under town police station in the district when a migrant labourer, a resident of neighbouring UP, barged into the house of another labourer while the girl was being fed milk. He took her to his house and assaulted her sexually.
