ARA, Sept. 20 -- The Aayar police in Bhojpur district busted an illegal mini-gun factory on Saturday and arrested five people, including a father and his two sons, who were allegedly involved in the manufacture and trade of illegal weapons, officials said. The police seized country-made pistols, guns, revolvers and air guns, along with a large quantity of tools used for manufacturing weapons, from areas under the Aayar and Piro police stations. The arrested individuals have been identified as Lal Babu Sharma, Suraj Kumar Sharma and Raj Kishore Sharma, all residents of Aayar village under the same police station area; Umesh Singh of Sridhar Tola; and Kaushal Rai of Banshi Dehri village under the Sahar police station area, who is currently living in Ambedkar Mohalla on Bihiya Road in Piro. Lal Babu Sharma is the father of Suraj and Raj Kishore Sharma. The mini-gun factory was being operated from the 'dalan' (outbuilding) of Lal Babu Sharma's house in Aayar village. Police said Lal Babu Sharma and his two sons manufactured illegal weapons and supplied them to buyers and dealers in various police station areas, including Aayar and Piro. A first information report (FIR) under the Arms Act has been registered against Lal Babu Sharma, Suraj Sharma, Raj Kishore Sharma, Kaushal Rai, Umesh Singh and Kundan Rai, a resident of Devchanda village under the Piro police station area, in connection with the case. Bhojpur Superintendent of Police Awadhesh Kumar Dixit said police received information that Lal Babu Sharma was allegedly running an illegal arms manufacturing unit from the outhouse of his house and was involved in the illegal arms trade with his sons.
