PATNA, March 19 -- The custom department on Wednesday recovered hydroponic cannabis worth Rs.10 crore from two suspicious bag from Gaya International Airport. The bags were lying unclaimed but no one came to pick up the consignment. Official familiar with the matter said, two suspicious bags arrived on a scheduled flight of Thai Airways from Bangkok on March 14 were separated by customs officials during the investigation. Authorities became suspicious of the condition of the bag and the contents in it, after which they were placed under surveillance. These bags remained unclaimed at the airport for three consecutive days, but no passenger came to pick them up. This deepened the customs department's suspicions, after which officials decided to search the bag under the rules. During the search, about 10 kilograms of hydroponic contrabands was recovered from the bag. The consignments said to be high quality and higher cost. Its value in the international market is estimated to be around Rs.10 crore. Customs officials say the case could be linked to international drug trafficking and the role of the organised gang behind it cannot be ruled out....
