PATNA, May 16 -- The son of a private hostel owner in Patna attacked four inmates with a knife on Friday after a dispute over rent, police said. The injured girls were admitted to the PMCH where they are undergoing treatment and are said to be out of danger. Police detained the attacker identified by his nickname Chris. The incident happened in the Musallahpur Haat area under the Pirbhore police station jurisdiction in the state capital. Police said further action against the accused will be taken once the girls record their statements and an FIR is filed in the case. Detailing the incident, police said the accused Chris, son of the hostel owner Neeraj Kumar, suddenly became angry when he saw the girls having a heated argument with his mother over a rent-related issue. As he lashed out at the girls with a knife, panic spread in the area, said police. "Hostel inmates -- all girls, numbering around 35 -- ran to safety. Locals immediately informed the police, who rushed to the spot and later took the injured girls to the hospital with the help of locals," said a police officer familiar with the matter....
