Heroin worth Rs.30 lakh seized, supplier held
BHABUA, July 31 -- Kaimur police arrested a drug supplier and recovered heroin worth Rs.30 lakh from his possession on GT Road near Mohania, police said on Thursday.
The team initiated an intensive vehicle check near Patna Turning on the route. Around 10.30 pm, a rider on a white motorcycle with an Uttar Pradesh registration number attempted to flee by rapidly turning around upon spotting the police force but was encircled and apprehended. He identified himself as Virendra Kumar alias Viru Singh of Barej village under Mohania police station area, Kaimur SP Shikhar Choudhary said.
He was arrested with heroin with an estimated international market value of approximately Rs.30,00,000. His mobile phone and bike were seized.
A case has been registered at Mohania Police Station under sections 8(C) and 21(b) of the NDPS Act and further legal action is underway. Police are trying to ascertain the source and destination of the consignment, the SP said....
