PATNA, June 6 -- Governor Lt Gen Syed Ata Hasnain (Retd) on Friday discussed various issues related to fire safety audit, its compliance and fire safety in hotels and hospitals in Bihar with Bihar State Disaster Management Authority (BSDMA) member PN Rai, and Bihar Fore Services IG M Sunil Naik and DIG Sudhir Kumar Porika. The Governor, who was earlier member of the National Disaster a management Authority (NDMA), directed to organise a seminar at Bihar Lok Bhawan with the aim of increasing public awareness towards fire safety. "Representatives of NDMA and BSDMA, functionaries of Health Department and Bihar Fire Service, operators of hospitals and hotels in various cities of the state and their security officials, representatives of urban local bodies and other concerned stakeholders will participate in this seminar," he added. Having vast experience in various aspects of disaster management, risk mitigation, pre-disaster preparedness and emergency response mechanism, the Governor's guidance is expected to help towards better compliance with safety standards, expansion of public awareness and adoption of best disaster management practices....
