PATNA, Sept. 27 -- A former district president of Brahmarshi Sena in Sitamarhi was shot dead on Friday morning, police said. Police further said that the incident occurred at Lagma village, the native place of the deceased, under the jurisdiction of Dumra police station. The victim was identified as Ram Manohar Sharma alias Ganesh Singh. Following the incident, local people blocked National Highway-22 demanding immediate arrests of the accused. Upon receiving information about the killing, Sadar SDPO-1 Rajiv Kumar Singh reached the spot and persuaded the crowd to disperse, after which the blockade was lifted in about two hours. Though the local people rushed Sharma to a nearby hospital, he was declared brought dead by the attending doctors. The body was later sent to Sadar Hospital for post-mortem.
