Ex-MLA and JD(U) leader sent to judicial custody for MCC breach
PATNA, Feb. 11 -- The special MP-MLA court of Bhagalpur on Tuesday sent former BJP MLA from Pirpainti, Aman Pawasn, and Janata Dal (United) leader Hiralal Paswan to 14-day judicial custody after rejecting their bail petition in a case for allegedly violating the Model Code of Conduct (MCC) 16 years ago.
Both the leaders were absconding since December 24, 2025 after the court had issued non-bailable warrants (NBW) against the two leaders cancelling their bonds for their continued absence from hearings in the case. According to the counsel of Aman Paswan, the court of special MP-MLA judge Dharmendra Kumar Pandey ordered the accused to be sent to judicial custody when they surrendered before the court and applied for bail that was rejected.
The police said an FIR was registered against them with Antichak police station in Kahalgaon sub-division on September 9, 2010 on the basis of the statement of the then Block Development Officer (BDO) for the violation of Model Code of Conduct. At the time, Aman Paswan was the district board member and Hiralal Paswan was a young JD(U) leader.
The BDO had found their porters pasted at places such as electric polls, etc....
