PATNA, Sept. 30 -- Bihar deputy chief minister Vijay Choudhary on Tuesday made light of the ongoing infighting within the JD(U) between party MLC Neeraj Kumar and party MLA Anant Singh over the Legislative Council election for Patna (graduate) seat, saying the matter would be resolved in due course. Singh, the party MLA and a strongman from Mokama, on Monday vowed to "defeat" his party's MLC Neeraj Kumar in upcoming legislative council polls by supporting and canvassing for Jan Suraaj Party candidate Anuj Singh. Singh admitted that he was settling "personal" scores with Neeraj Kumar, who is seeking re-election from the Patna Graduates constituency for a fourth consecutive term. "The matter is in the party's consideration and the issue will be resolved well before time," he added, while addressing media persons at the JD(U) office. Choudhary also did not delve into Union minister and LJP-RV chief Chirag Paswan's remark that "he felt ashamed of being part of the government due to poor law and order situation", and cited the government's prompt response as the mark of "good governance". Are there only people from the minority community in the 2.2 million people who were found dead in the voter list? Bihar was the first state where it was done and there was not even a single complaint," he asked. "The people in the affected areas are being continuously informed. The department is fully alert. The people have been evacuated from vulnerable areas.
