PATNA, Sept. 23 -- As part of its ongoing campaign against corruption in Bihar, the Economic Offences Unit (EOU) on Tuesday registered an FIR against Kamlesh Kumar, GM (Technical) of Bihar State Building Construction Corporation Limited, on charges of acquiring assets disproportionate to his known sources of income and carried out raids/searches at four locations including Patna and Vaishali. Preliminary investigation revealed that he acquired assets worth Rs.3.12 crore beyond his known and legitimate sources of income-an excess of approximately 103.30 per cent. Searches are also being conducted at Flat No. 302 in Manmohan Apartment on Ramkrishna Path in the North SK Puri police station area of Patna, at Medha Building on Rajeev Nagar Road No. 25C and at his official office chamber as General Manager (Technical) at Bihar State Building Construction Corporation Limited, Patna. During the searches EOU found that the GM had built a two-storied house at Jandaha, besides an under-construction palatial house. The EoU sleuths recovered an RC book of a Crysta Innova vehicle. EOU also found Rs 28.86 lakh deposited in sixteen different bank accounts of SBI, HDFC and ICICI under the names of Kamlesh and his relatives.
