Criminals loot Rs.27L from security van
PATNA, May 14 -- Armed criminals looted about Rs.27 lakh from a CMS security van at Jol Bigha village under the Gopalpur police station area in Patna on Wednesday afternoon, police said.
According to police, the CMS security van was travelling along its route when armed criminals intercepted it near Jol Bigha.
The assailants allegedly held the security guards at gunpoint and looted a cash box containing the money before fleeing the scene.
A police officer said the cash box was later recovered around 3 km from the crime scene.
News of the incident triggered panic in the area, and a large number of local residents gathered at the spot.
Senior police officers, along with teams from multiple police stations, reached the scene, cordoned off the area, and launched an investigation.
olice are also scanning CCTV footage from nearby areas to identify the accused. City SP (East) Parichay Kumar said the robbery occurred while the CMS security van was returning after collecting cash.
He said five criminals riding three motorcycles looted Rs.27 lakh and escaped.
Meanwhile, a probe has been launched from all angles, police said....
