PATNA, Sept. 29 -- The police headquarters has prepared a consolidated report on the viral video cases for the investigation of harassment and abuse of minors such as in Jamui, Samastipur, Banka and Kishanganj districts, officials said on Monday, adding that senior police are directed to finish probe within fifteen days. In connection with these cases, the police have arrested 18 accused in eight registered FIRs so far, while five minors have been apprehended. More than a dozen accused in these cases are still on the run, whose whereabouts are being searched inside and outside the state. Senior police officers have been tasked with completing the investigation of all cases, including Samastipur, within ten to fifteen days. Following this, the police will file charge sheets and conduct a fast track trial in these cases, said a senior official of police headquarters (PHQ). Regarding the incident involving the girls and the viral videos of them, the chief minister Samrat Choudhary had sought a details report from the in-charge DGP and directed necessary action, on which PHQ has issued necessary instructions to the SPs of the respective districts. However, additional director general, Weaker Section, K S Anupam said in the cases of harassment of minors, separate FIRs have also been registered under the IT Act for the publishing video of minor girl/boy, posted objectinable content of minor victims and shared morfed and fake videos related to the referred incident and generate AI video of the minor victims and the accused involed in the referred offence. According to her, 521 videos have been taken down from various internet media platforms so far. Three accused have also been arrested in the Jammu case. In the viral video case in Banka, an FIR has been filed against 49 X and one Instagram user. In the Jamui case, police registered two separate FIRs and arrested Nandan Yadav and Hareram Yadav besides three minors. Fours persons arrests in the viral video case....
