Constable who posted on social media about encounter suspended
PATNA, June 28 -- Bihar Police suspended a constable Ashish Kumar Tiwari (647), posted in Esat Champaran police line, for indiscipline and making objectionable statements on social media, police said on Saturday. According to the senior official of police headqaurters, Ashish is accused of violating the Bihar Government Servants Conduct (Amendment) Rules, 2026 and departmental action has also been initiated against him.
Constable Ashish Kumar Tiwari is accused of acting against the dignity of his post and making objectionable comments about the Bihar Police and the Bihar government on social media, which tarnished the image of the department. The case was investigated by a DSP (reserve) of East Champaran police line.
After the allegations were found true during the investigation, the constable was given an opportunity to present his side, but he did not submit any reply.
He was subsequently suspended with immediate effect.
In an official statement issued on Saturday, the East Champaran police said the constable, identified as Ashish Kumar Tiwari posted in Motihari district, has been suspended for allegedly neglecting his official duties, displaying indiscipline, misconduct, and impropriety in reaction to the incident that occurred at Biloti village under Shahpur police station in Bhojpur district....
