BETTIAH, Sept. 29 -- CM Nitish Kumar on Sunday described the BJP as his party's natural alliance partner and sought to dismiss the possibility of a political realignment, saying Bihar was set to be catapulted among top developed states propelled by the double engine government. Speaking at Sabeya Airport in Hathua block, after laying the foundation stone for 123 schemes worth Rs.1,295 crore and inauguration of 61 worth Rs.289 crore, Kumar regretted his party's decision to partner with RJD twice. "Do you know, our party made an erroneous decision to join hands with them twice.) Later, they were removed to continue with those who had been us with for long. We are getting good support from the Centre and Bihar is set to go far on the path of development propelled by the double engine government," the CM said, highlighting the government's achievements in the district. "Those who were at the helm of affairs before us preferred to do nothing for Bihar. The anarchy and lawlessness had come to such a sorry pass that people did not venture out after dusk ...," said Kumar referring to RJD with whose support he formed his government twice. After winning 2015 assembly elections with support of RJD, he walked out of the 'Mahagathbandhan' coalition in 2017 to partner with the NDA. He broke ties with the BJP a second time, resigning as Bihar CM in 2022 and formed a new government with RJD and became CM. In 2024, he deserted RJD and returned as chief minister....
