Chirag assures action in Bhojpur encounter
PATNA, July 4 -- Union minister and national president of LJP (RV) Chirag Paswan met family members of slain Bharat Bhushan Tiwari at Bilauti village in Bhojpur district on Friday and assured them that the police officers allegedly responsible for the killing of Tiwari would face strict punishment.
Tiwari, a social activist , was killed in a police encounter following a stand-off with the local police on June 17. While the police maintained that he was fired upon as he tried to shoot at police, Tiwari's family alleged that he had surrendered his weapon and was still shot.
"Government is committed for giving justice to family members of Tiwari," the LJP (RV) president said. The Union minister also said that it was a case of murder. "One who surrenders could not be killed. The person who have got responsibility to protect people will do such an act could not be tolerated. Such an incident could not be accepted in a democratic rule," the LJP(RV) chief said.
He said thar action will be taken against each and every guilty person guilty in this case and they will be arrested.
He also assured the family members of Tiwari that he will talk to CM Samrat Choudhary in this case. Minister Sanjay Singh, Sanjay Paswan, MLC Ashraf Ansari, former MLC Hulas Pandey and others were with Chirag....
