BSP launches Bahujan Hitay Jagrukta Yatra
BHABUA, Sept. 11 -- Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) chief national coordinator and party supremo Mayawati's nephew, Akash Anand, launched the Bahujan Hitay Jagrukta Yatra in Bihar on Wednesday, just ahead of the Assembly polls.
The Yatra was flagged off from Kaimur district in south-west Bihar, adjoining Uttar Pradesh. Kaimur, considered a BSP stronghold with a cadre base built over the last two decades, was chosen as the launchpad for both the campaign and Anand's formal entry into Bihar politics. Party leaders describe him as Mayawati's political heir.
