Bokaro DC stresses tech-driven traffic mgmt during inspection
DHANBAD, June 18 -- In a drive aimed at streamlining government office functioning and improving public service delivery, Bokaro Deputy Commissioner (DC) Ajay Nath Jha carried out a series of surprise inspections of government establishments on Wednesday, with special emphasis on technology-based traffic management during his visit to the District Composite Control Room.
During the inspection of the Composite Control Room at Camp-II, the DC reviewed live CCTV feeds from different parts of the district and assessed the monitoring system's functioning. He also examined complaints received through the emergency response service 112 and reviewed the action taken on them. Officials informed him that 14 complaints had been received that day and forwarded to the concerned authorities for necessary action.
Focusing on traffic regulation, the DC directed officials to make greater use of digital surveillance for monitoring vehicle movement and identifying violations of traffic and transport laws. He instructed that offenders be traced through CCTV footage and penalised as per rules.
Speaking on the occasion, Jha said, "Technology should be used to its fullest potential for better law enforcement and traffic management. Effective monitoring through digital systems can help improve road discipline and strengthen public safety." He also reviewed grievances received through the PG Portal and instructed officials to ensure disposal of district administration-related complaints within 48 to 72 hours. He stressed that negligence in addressing public grievances would not be tolerated.
The DC later inspected the District Treasury Office, where he reviewed payment procedures under the SNS-Sparsh system and examined financial records, including allotment registers and other official documents. He directed officials to maintain complete transparency, accuracy and accountability in financial transactions. He also asked staff to keep records properly arranged and ensure that files are clearly labelled for easy retrieval.
The DC also held a surprise inspection of the District Sports Office. During the visit, he checked various registers and records, including incoming and outgoing correspondence registers, index registers, financial documents and salary-related records.
He directed District Sports Officer Hemlata Boon to update and systematically maintain all records within a week. He further stressed strict adherence to financial rules and timely disposal of official work.
