PATNA, Sept. 4 -- The BJP will launch a month-long grassroots outreach campaign from September 17 to mark Prime Minister Narendra Modi's birthday, with a focus on women beneficiaries, youth and government welfare schemes, senior party leaders said on Thursday. As part of the Sewa Sankalp Abhiyan, the party will reach out to beneficiaries of schemes such as Ujjwala and Jeevika, besides organising welfare camps and public outreach programmes. Party insiders said the move is aimed at strengthening the NDA's connect with women voters in Bihar. Women will be at the centrestage of the party's public-connect initiative. The aim is to woo women and retain their interest in the NDA after former chief minister Nitish Kumar moved from the state to national politics in April, said a party insider. The campaign will also include a nationwide youth outreach covering around 25 crore school students, college-goers and other young people. The BJP plans to engage them through activities aimed at understanding their expectations from the government. In Bihar, the party is preparing a separate outreach programme targeting Generation Z at coaching centres, colleges, universities, hostels and youth clubs. District-level "Yuva Samwad" programmes will be organised to discuss issues concerning young people and highlight the work of the Narendra Modi government at the Centre and the Samrat Choudhary government in Bihar. The BJP will also seek to promote India's cultural heritage and patriotism among the youth while urging them to guard against misinformation on social media. State BJP vice-president Santosh Pathak said the campaign would mark Modi's 25 years in public service and governance, beginning with his tenure as Gujarat chief minister. The party also plans a mass rendition of the national song Vande Mataram on October 17, the culmination of the month-long campaign....
