Bihar Police keep watch on 135 exam paper leak accused
PATNA, June 21 -- The Economic Offences Unit (EOU) of the Bihar Police has prepared a list of 135 accused of paper leaks, examination frauds or have been part of cheating rackets in order to keep check on elements that might mar today's NEET retest in the state, officers said.
Officers added that a special cell has been constituted for the task and the list includes son of renowned exam-rigger Sanjeev Mukhia.
According to EOU officials, the name, address, photograph and complete information of the accused have been shared with DMs and SPs and instructions have been given to keep them an eye on the suspects. Most of the accused in the list are out of jail on bail. In such a situation, instructions have been given to monitor the activities of these accused from the police station level.
Apart from this, the EOU is also collecting intelligence about the new gang members. The officials of the social media monitoring cell are also keeping an eye on digital patrolling.
The EOU has also issued an advisory regarding NEET examination. In the advisory the EOU suspected that anti-social elements and cyber frauds are cheating by spreading confusion and rumours about other things related to the exam, including question paper leaks. In case of receiving or getting to know of any such information, the EOU has asked the candidates or parents to register a complaint on the helpline number 1930 of the NCRP portal or the mobile and WhatsApp number of the EOU: 9031829067.
A total of 331 examination centres have been set up in 35 cities of 34 districts of the state for 1,56,061 examinees (81,165 male and 74,896 female students). Patna has a maximum of 95 centres. In which more than 45,000 candidates will appear in the exam. The largest examination centre is "Babu Pariksha Kendra" where more than 7,500 candidates will appear for the examination. More than 100 static magistrates and 29 flying squads have been deputed to make the exam misconduct-free.
The mock drill of the delegated office-bearers was also conducted on Ssaturday to complete the examination without hassle....
